Welcome to the Townhouse
The Townhouse is set in a quiet corner of Exeter city centre yet just a few minutes stroll from the Cathedral, the Royal Albert Memorial Museum, the Quayside, shopping centres, restaurants, university and train stations.
The guesthouse was built in 1875 for the neighbouring St David's Church and has undergone refurbishment bringing the Victorian, Grade II Listed property up to date with period and contemporary features.
We have been awarded the 2017 Certificate of Excellence by Tripadvisor (we also held the 2016 Certificate of Excellence). The Food Standards Agency has awarded us 5 stars - the highest possible food hygiene rating in the UK.
We have nine stylishly decorated rooms (singles, twins, doubles and a kingsize double). All rooms have the following facilities: Free Wi-Fi, Flat screen multi-channel LCD TV's, USB charger sockets, Fair Trade teas and ground coffee, crisp white bed linen, complementary toiletries, hairdryer, iron and ironing board available. All rooms are en-suite except Room 7 which has a private external bathroom. As Townhouse is an old Grade II listed building, there is no elevator in the building to take you to the upper floors.
Our room rates are inclusive of our highly rated breakfast to give you a great start to the day.
We want your stay at the Townhouse to be as comfortable and memorable as possible and we are on hand to make sure your needs are met.
If you book directly with us (either by telephone or website) you can check in from 12 noon. If your room is not ready, luggage can be left with us. On check out luggage can be left with us free of charge up to 1pm (£3 per item thereafter). As a thank you for booking directly with us, you will receive a complimentary box of chocolates to enjoy in your room.
