We are about duvets.
Our comfy & quiet bedrooms feature ‘Finer than Down’ duvets with a pillow selection, Hypnos pillow-top mattresses, and premier bed linen. All products are hypo-allergenic.
All bedrooms have bijou en-suites (showers only, except bedroom 7) and luxury amenities – including Roberts radios, smart TVs & sleep spray.
Most have high ceilings, and a mix of period features and contemporary furnishings – including breakfast seating.

Is breakfast in your pyjamas your thing? If booking on B&B basis – our freshly made breakfast dishes are delivered to your door each morning. The continental-styled vegetarian / vegan menu includes a trio of pastry, breakfast pot, treats & more. You will be spoiled!
And if a glass of wine, beer or bubbles brings you delight – try our private, early evening residents bar. The Monkey Lounge is open for early evening drinks.

An historic grade II listed building
Originally known as Argyll Villa, the building is of the High Victorian eclectic-style. It was built as a pair of houses, along with #52, by the Wippell family circa 1875. Historic England lists the properties as, “…a striking pair of High Victorian houses at the upper end of a good street…” (2021). Well, no one can beat “a good street”!
The property neighbours the beautiful St David’s Church and charming houses along Little Silver. It has been updated with period and contemporary features.
There is no lift / elevator to access upper floors.

– We cannot hold luggage before check-in or after checking out.
– Non-resident guests by permission only.
– Children aged 12 or over welcome.
– We do not accept pets or hen/stag parties.
– Smoking / Vaping not permitted.
Parking
– We do not have on-site parking and area parking is limited. We recommend travel to Exeter by train when possible.
– Local on-street 2-hour bays are free overnight, 4pm to 11am (next day), Monday – Saturday, and all day Sunday. Great for 1 or 2 nights!
– Nearest Pay & Display Car Parks – Bystock Terrace Car Park (EX4 4HY) and Exeter St Davids rail station car parks (EX4 4NT / see Apcoa here).
– Parking permits (restricted / fee) for local on-street resident ‘J’ bays only – valid from check-in to noon on check-out. No reservation needed.
– Bicycle storage on limited, outdoor basis only. Advance reservation only.
EV Charging Points – we do not have an EV charging point. But several different types are available in the area. (See an EV charging map.)
